"Nigel Cross is widely recognised as the leading figure of his generation in design research. In this book he has produced an accessible, lucid and authoritative description of designers' thought processes and strategies, which is essential reading for understanding design." --Michael Tovey, Coventry University "Mixing analysis with case studies, Nigel Cross provides a succinct introduction to 'design thinking'. His message-- that creativity can be taught, nurtured and developed--should empower even the most elementary design students." --Elizabeth Guffey, Purchase College "This book proves that Nigel Cross is truly one of the leading thinkers who are working hard to establish the body of knowledge for design." --Lee Kun-Pyo, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology

DO NOT PURCHASE!! I rarely leave reviews but I was so disappointed and let down by the existing reviews for this book that I felt it was my duty to add a truthful review. This is possibly the worst money I have ever spent on anything. Poorly written, boring, theoretical, and generally not useful. Look up some articles for free instead- you're likely to find a clearer explanation, better examples, and more practical information.

A good primer for anyone who works with designers and wants to understand how designers think. This is a short book, around 150 pages, so don't expect an exhaustive tome on the subject. Recommended for anyone who has to build/design stuff from scratch. I found it It useful to understand the similarities in the design process in different fields and internalize how they can be applied to my own.

Nice quick read into the minds of some of the most prolific designers that do not enter the mainstream conversation.

Fantastic book on how great designers think and develop their 'skill set'. Reading it for an instructional design course but applies to any type of design

A good read. Enjoyed learning how other designers think and the processes they use.

A great instructional design book. I love the kindle option. I Wish all my text books were available for kindle.

interesting to read and motivational while also analytical for understanding the design process in general. A good, easy read, even enjoyable.

This book was a very interesting read and well supported by a number of studies!
